Massapequa Soccer Club Adds Two Nationally-Acclaimed Soccer Talents to Lead Coaching, Training and Technical Development.

The Massapequa Soccer Club appointed Chris Armas as Director of Coaching
and Richard Nuttall as Technical Director. Armas is a 12-year veteran of the Major League Soccer and seven-time all-star, playing with the Chicago Fire and LA Galaxy. Nuttall has led the Hofstra University Mens Soccer program as head coach for 20 years, amassing numerous honors for the program including conference titles from 2004-2006.
The Board of Directors of Massapequa Soccer Club, a club committed to player development and enjoyment at every level, announced today that Chris Armas has been named Director of Coaching and Richard Nuttall is joining as Technical Director. Armas and Nuttall will oversee player and coach development and supervise the intramural and travel programs, including the special needs program.
Peter Annarumma, Massapequa Soccer Club’s President stated, “Chris and Richard share a common philosophy of player development and training programs that we believe will strengthen our club from the bottom up. The love they have for the game will be injected into everything we do for our kids, which will create rewarding experiences for players at every level. Chris Armas brings over 12 years of professional soccer experience to Massapequa Soccer Club including 10 years with the Chicago Fire, captaining the team for six years, where he led the team to
winning the MLS championship in 1998. He also played eight years with the US National team with 66 appearences, making 2 world cup rosters. Armas played for the Long Island Rough Riders‘ Championship team in 1995. Armas was named MLS All-Star seven times, best 11 five times and Armas ranks in the top five on the Chicago Fire’s all time list. He is 2nd in assists (42), 2nd in winning assists (13), 2nd in minutes played, 3rd in games played and 2nd in games started. Armas spent his childhood in Brentwood and he graduated from Adelphi University. Armas resides on Long Island with his wife and two sons.

Richard Nuttall brings college coaching knowledge and experience to the club Rich has been Hofstra’s Mens head coach for 20 years. Previously, he played professional soccer with Long Island Rough Riders, Leeds United and Stoke City of the English Football League. He has lead the Hofstra Pride to three straight conference titles from 2004 -2006 and he has piloted the Pride to a 178-159-35 record in 19 seasons. Rich resides on Long Island with his wife, two daughters and son. |
