Rest in Peace David & Barbara Clive, Leslie Allen

Rest in Peace David & Barbara Clive, Leslie Allen
A shared note from Steve Padaetz, Managing Director, of LIJSL about the Clive Family & Leslie Allen.  The MSC would like to express our deepest condolences.

Presidents, Registrars:
While we trust this finds yourself and your families safe and healthy, we are saddened to pass along news of the recent passing of long-time members of the LIJSL family, including a call for support in a heart-wrenching situation;

  • David Clive

A long-time coach/trainer of teams in both the Plainedge, Massapequa Soccer Clubs, many also knew David as an experienced LISRA/LIJSL referee.

David's wife was very ill for many years and just passed away from cancer. David was at home just before going to the wake and had a heart attack. He passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital. David has one son and was with him at the time it happened. At 26 years old his son just survived cancer brain surgery and now just lost both parents in two days.

As their only child with no other immediate family, Colin is now struggling to overcome the loss of his loving, devoted parents.  Additionally, Colin has been battling brain cancer for the past two years.  Most recently, he has started an experimental treatment that is successfully fighting the metastatic cancer.  At 70 years of age, Dave had stayed employed to keep his family eligible for health coverage.  Any monies that can be donated to ease the burden on Colin for his long term care and medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.  Any unused funds will be donated to The National Brain Tumor Society in the Clive Family name.  Please prayerfully consider donating to Colin’s cause, no amount is too small or too large.

Please feel free to share this message with anybody you feel would be interested in donatinghttps://www.gofundme.com/f/clive-family

  • Leslie Allen

Another long-time member of the LIJSL family who volunteered at the Club (Elmont), League (LIJSL) and State (ENYYSA) levels for 25+ years. At the time of his passing, Leslie was continuing to serve on the League’s Games Committee and was the Girls U19 Age Group Coordinator. Many of you may recognize him also as a LISRA/LIJSL referee. Whether it was on the pitch or off, Leslie had a deep passion for people, especially children, and well known for his ever-present smile and infectious laugh. https://www.tributearchive.com/obituaries/19650068/Leslie-A-Allen
