Massapequa/Jefferson Cup News

The Jefferson Cup is one of the highest ranked boy's tournaments in the country. Each year the tournament has offered it's participating youth teams the opportunity to watch college teams in a showcase game at the tournament main complex featuring some of the local colleges near the Richmond, VA area. This year with the college spring breaks falling at the same time as the tournament dates the choice colleges are not available so the tournament has decided to adopt a new practice for it's showcase games. The BU18 Massapequa ACES who are trained by Rich Nuttall and formerly by Ronan Wiseman, have been chosen to participate in one of these showcase games. The ACES will be matched against the YMS Xplosion who are the defending national champions in the BU18 age group. Things don't get any easier for the Massapequa boys as they face the 2nd ranked team in the USA, the Triangle SC United on Sunday. The ACES were champions of the Jefferson Cup in 2008, defeating Triangle in the semifinals. The ACES are also ENYYSA State Cup champions in 2008 and 2009. Good luck to the boys as they represent the Massapequa Soccer Club in this prestigious setting
